Known side effect: Bone marrow suppression is a known side effect of your treatment. Low platelet counts are usually not problematic unless the count falls below 40, and in some patients a count as low as 10 may not cause problems. Blood counts are usually monitored during treatment and you should discuss your concerns with your doctor.
