Cirrhosis: Alcoholic hepatitis leads to alcoholic cirrhosis, a scarring and shrivelling of the liver. Towards its end stages, jaundice (yellow eyes and skin) from excess bilirubin in the blood) and ascites (fluid in the peritoneal cavity) are clinical signs. The kidneys may also be affected as multiple organs decompensate following the liver failure (see hepato-renal syndrome). Get his affairs in order.
