It's not new: Suicide has always been a huge problem. This is actually not a "high" point. In the usa, we are down from the 1950 - 80 rate of 13.2 per 100k to 11 per 100k. It takes courage, effort, love & luck to make even a part of the world better but it is worth trying. Here's more statistical data: http://www.Suicide.Org/suicide-statistics.Html#death-rates i try to be on the right side of the stats! u can 2.

Suicide reason: There are many reasons someone tries suicide, but i think they all can be summarized as the person feels that it is the best option. Their thinking is impaired by mental illness, short sightedness or prejudice. This is why people need help to envision other solutions to their problems.

Person who does it: Suicide can occur for many reasons. I believe that most are affectively driven. Something has become so painful to live with or so shameful to live with that the person develops one goal only, and that is to escape the pain. The pain is so intense that it is imperative that it stop as it is unbearable and there is no immediate way out.You have a lethal injury, but no one will kill you or help you.
