I've never said: Antidepressants aren't overprescribed. :-) they're often the "go-to" medications for all manner of discomfort, in a society where people demand immediate relief vs exploring or dealing with their suffering. Patients demand, & especially primary care doctors feel pressed to "do something" in 7-8 minute appointments. It's not an easy situation for anyone. Some genuinely need these meds, though.
