What causes hyperaldosperonemia? what is the treatment for it?

Dr. J. Roth answered

Hyperaldosteronemia: This is a condition of excess production of aldosterone by the adrenal glands. Aldosterone is responsible for absorption of sodium and potassium excretion. Tumors of the adrenal gland may cause this condition and are treated with adrenalectomy. Other causes outside the adrenal gland(seondary hyperaldosteronism) may be treated with medications such as spironolactone.
