Scalp dermatitis: The most common cause of such symptoms is seborrheic dermatitis -- the medical name for dandruff. Psoriasis is another possibility. Several other kinds of dermatitis could be possible, however. You'll never know the diagnosis and best treatment except with direct exam, ideally by a dermatologist.
