Yes it's ok: Eating late dinner and going to sleep within 2hrs will no help in your metabolism. Try to get your larger meal at lunch. 6 smaller meals a day without increasing calories following a good glycemic index ( low carb high protein)will increase metabolism. Also increasing body mass will increase metabolism.

Snack before bed ok: It is ok to eat a small snack before bed. However, this could help cause heartburn or esophageal reflux once you lay down. Ther is some concern about easier weight gain when eating shortly before bed. Sumo wrestlers in japan routinely sleep after a big meal to help them put on weight.

Night snack : Eating a small snack before bedtime is not a problem but it's better to do it only if you are hungry, not to slow your metabolism. Sometimes eating close to bedtime causes heartburn when you lie down so if possible, drink water instead and go to bed!
