Could be...: Could be your JAW or NECK. If you sleep on your side, your jaw may slightly 'pop' out of position try sleeping only on your back. Vertebrae in your neck can 'pop'(just like your finger joints) . Determine which one of theses is likely and see your Dentist or MD for diagnosis.
