A member asked:

With postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome will midodrine mean more blood gets to heart and brain instead of pooling?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Midodrine helps to vasoconstrict and by so doing slightly increase the BP in the vessels that deliver blood to the brain. This improved blood supply to the level of the brainstem reduces the hyper stimulation of the adrenergic nervous system (less adrenal) which triggers much of the tachycardia seen in pots.
