Alcohol is: A diuretic. In other words, it will take more water out with it when you drink it. It's a net in terms of fluid intake. Probably it isn't a problem with your kidneys, but you didn't give enough information. I wouldn't treat anxiety and heart palpitations with alcohol. If you are developing edema (swelling) get seen by md.

Unlikely: Many adults 'pee' very little. If you have any doubts, check a blood test called creatinine and it will tell you how your kidneys are doing. But most likely, they are fine.
