Most detailed exam: Maternal-fetal medicine or OB doctors. Sonographers spend long time looking at the heart to ensure that there are 4 chambers, an intact septum between the chambers, normal anatomy of the big vessels of the heart, a regular and normal heart rate, etc. They will also look for abnormalities that can be associated with chromosomal or other problems. Details they see change with fetal age and position.
