Once daily: Be consistent re: dose time, generally 1/2 hr before or 2 hr after a meal ( empty stomach), avoid taking with high dose vit/min supplement. Check levels in about 3 weeks. Watch for increased sweats, weight loss, shortness of breath, nervousness, palpitations, insomnia, frequentbm, hair thinning, tremor, "heebie-jeebies"- symptoms of xs levels of thyroid hormone (native or store-bought). Thyroid Medications: Thyroid medication needs to be taken on an empty stomach. Most of my patients take it first thing in the morning with water, at least 30 minutes prior to eating anything, drinking anything else, or taking any supplements. It would really depend on your gastric motility (how well your stomach moves things along or lets things just sit there), too.
