Prozac (fluoxetine): At this low dose, very possible to taper and discontinue, under your doctor's supervision.

Hopefully...: Not easy coming off xanax (alprazolam), (alprazolam) even a low dose like you have been on. There are big differences between the meds. You won't feel anything from a dose of prozax (like you do from the xanax (alprazolam)). It works in the background, more as a preventive. But will, hopefully, a month or so after the transition, make you no longer worry about needing a xanax (alprazolam). Prozac daily is much safer than xanax (alprazolam) even taken as needed.
