Is it okay to take .25mg of xanax (alprazolam) once a day with 10mg of prozac i am 62?

Yes/no: The dose of xanax (alprazolam) you cited is conservative. Nevertheless, there is increasing evidence of eventual cognitive compromise in the elderly (which i don't think you are yet... But you're headed there...) from long term bzd treatment. I really really really try to get my patients off of xanax (alprazolam). If you are taking it just "once a day" i would think there could be other rx that might work as well.

Daily xanax (alprazolam): daily xanax (alprazolam) = treat symptoms instead of Rx cause of problems, putting you in danger of maintain and worsening disease. Need higher dose of prozac as 10mg is only starting dose. Still need Rx at 62 means may need proper Rx for life unless problem is very very situational.
