My bp around 170/125 & resting heart rate around 100, chest pain, radiating from center. altace added to meds & tests ordered. correct treatment?

Correct class of med: Altace is an ace inhibitor- this medication class can be very helpful. Given your degree of hypertension, i would suspect this particular one (altace) may not be sufficient. I would consider another ace inhibitor such as Lisinopril which may be more helpful to control bp.
