Usually very curable: Most uterine cancers are very curable with a hysterectomy plus or minus a course of radiation therapy depending upon the stage of the cancer. You cannot catch it from her.

Risk factors: Assuming its cancer of the lining (endometrial) of the uterus there are risk factors - obesity, smoking, diabetes- that you could work on controlling. While these are not exactly inherited risks they are familial.

Depends on type: The seriousness of your mother's cancer depends on the stage of the disease and type of disease. Early uterine cancer is curable. You will not catch cancer from your mother, however, the family history of cancer increases your risk.
