Hello. : Hello. Stage i uterine cancer means that the tumor has grown in to the endometrium and possibly into the myometrium of the uterus. Regarding what type of treatment will be recommended will depend on the stage and input from members of the treatment team. Possible treatments of uterine cancer includes: surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and hormone treatment. It means it has not spread outside the confines of the uterus. I consider all cancer to be serious but her doctor may be able to provide a better gauge for that.

Agree with Dr. F.: Stage zero means cancer on surface only. Stage 1, cancer grown in to the organ but not beyond. It is curable in about 90% of cases. Stage 2, 3, 4 are progressively worse, stage 4 is incurable. Wish your mother good health.
