Needs examination: It is so difficult to diagnose problems like these without taking a look. You could have a chipped tooth that is irritating the tongue, you can have an aphthous ulcer, too. Are you a smoker or dipper? There may be a lesion from those habits. Best to have it examined by a dentist in your area.

Maxillofacial doctor: You should see a maxillo- facial doctor or an ENT surgeon or a plastic surgeon to get an examination and treatment. What you have might be a salivary gland problem.

Probably best: To be evaluated by an oral surgeon for an accurate diagnosis rather than an over the internet guess. If it hasn't resolved in a week since its onset, i would make the appointment. Hope this helps.
