No: An echocardiogram is a very useful test giving lots of valuable information. The calcium score is basically useless to the doctor and says nothing about the function of your heart.

Depends on what: You are looking for.... For diagnosis of asymptomatic coronary disease coronary calcium screening is the gold standard.
