Joining groups: If you're not considering therapy, which would help in this area, joining groups where you have some existing talent (art, sports, chess, science) can be an avenue towards meeting new people and developing friendships and other relationships. Play to your strengths, so your talents show without having to be very social and gradually build your skills with others.
