A member asked:

What is the difference between ofloxacin and neomycin eardrops? my son is 4w tubes in 1ear&hole in the other from a tube.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both are antibiotics: Ofloxacin is often used with tubes because the tubes can drain germ-laden stuff and it treats the infection. Neomycin does also, but can cause allergic contact reactions in some children (itching, redness, burning) so it is not preferred.
