My right tonsil has had a growth on it for almost a year. like a perfectly round ball sticking off the side. doctor thinks nothing of it. have chronic tonsillitis but it's there even when not inflamed?

Tonsil stones: What you are describing are tonsil stones called tonsilloliths. The are generally harmless collections of putrefied food and bacteria stuck in a crevice. Sometimes you can remove them using a clean handle of a teaspoon, but you can just leave them alone. If you have chronic tonsillitis then consider having a tonsillectomy.
