No: Not a good idea. Baking soda (on it's own) is not meant to be swallowed and young children do not yet know how to reliably rinse and spit. It can also be too abrasive for baby teeth. Use a non-fluoridated infant toothpaste instead.

Why: Why use a baking ingredient when there are so many effective children's dentifrices on the market? Ask your dentist to recommend an age-appropriate toothpaste for your child. Toothpaste works better than baking soda for cleaning.
