Get seen by doctor: If you have numbness of the gum and or lip long after the effect of the local anesthetic that the dentist used, should have worn off - see your dentist. If after trauma, i.e. Fractures of the jaw bones, then seek medical attention. The er doctor or your pcp will refer you to a maxillofacial surgeon.
