A member asked:

Could surgery fix a siatic nerve?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Sciatic nerve pain is very common. The first thing to do is to see a doctor to determine whether your pain is definitely from the sciatic nerve. If so, the next step is to see physical therapy. If that does not help enough, often steroid injections are useful to reduce inflammation around the sciatic nerve. Surgery is a last option but appropriate if the leg is becoming weak and numb.
