A member asked:

Why does high blood pressure cause thumping in the head?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doesn't : It usually doesn't. If you have thumping, you may be hearing your arterial pulse. This isn't as rare as it may seem, since the carotid artery anatomically traverses the bone that houses your inner ear. If your hearing thru air is reduced (by a cold, let's say), then the conduction thru bone is augmented.
