Can my child with chicken pox take tylenol (acetaminophen)?

Excellent question!: The short answer is yes. The longer answer is never give Aspirin to a child with chicken pox as this has been shown to potentially trigger a serious brain disorder known as reye syndrome. Do make certain your child is well hydrated and not overdressed in your efforts to combat fever. Ibuprofen at reasonable doses is another possible consideration for pain or fever relief for those with chicken pox.
