A member asked:

My daughter has chicken pox,the doctor have us allergex and calamine and we added panadol syrup as she has fever.her temperature keeps going up and down and she also looks like she is drowsy.should we rush to er?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to say: The greatest risk during chickenpox is a rare form of pneumonia. So any difficulty breathing should warrant immediate ER care. Drowsiness during fever is expected. They also often get some brain irritation during the disease. ( no treatment needed) If she is able to keep up with her fluid needs (pee every 6-8 hrs) & plays some she may do well. If she really spooks you have her seen.
