TMJ: You may have degeneration or other pathology in the TMJ (temporomandibular joint), which is the joint where the jaw attaches to the skull, just in front of the ear. Your dentist can help to make the diagnosis.

Crepitus: From TMJ unlikely, variation of eustachian tube dysfunction possibly, or exaggerated pressure equalization. If persists, worsens, then have otoscopic exam.
