No specific number: There is no set number. What is important is the relationship between BP in the arm and ankle. The ankle BP should be higher than the arm bp.

Close to the arm: The arm BP is compared to the ankle bp, as in abi= ankle brachial index, which is used to assess the circulation in the legs. Ideally, we hope the ratio is about "1"... With the ankle and foot pulses easily felt by hand. Higher ankle pressure may mean diseased arterial blood vessels, calcifications, as is often found in diabetes.
