Injury: A toe injury could cause a pinched nerve. I also have other problems too, like a contusion or fracture or dislocation.

Possibly: Irritation to the L5 nerve root can cause radiating pain to the big toe. However, trauma to the toe sounds like it is more likely in your case.

No: A direct injury to the big toe is unrelated to a pinched nerve. A pinched nerve generally refers to either a pinched spinal nerve or a pinched peripheral nerve which results in numbness and/or tingling and/or weakness.
