No: Cataracts in infants are congenital, metabolic, or from infectious causes. Cataract in infants can rapidly lead to amblyopia and permanent vision loss. Also, white appearing eyes in children may not be a cataract, but may actually be a sign of a retinoblastoma. If your child's pupil is white, it needs to be evaluated urgently.
