Can foods affect your pulse?

Pulse: Most foods would not directly affect the pulse. If gastrointestinal distress resulted from some particular food intake, then an increase in pulse rate would be very likely.

Eating in general.: In general, our HR will increase a bit after we eat as our body has to circulate more blood through the vasculature of the gut to aid digestion and absorption. That being said, HR may increase more with hot food, spicy food or unpalatable food.
