Not the same: A ganglion cyst is formed from a rupture of a synovial capsule. A neuroma is formed from injury to nervous tissue.

Fluid filled v Solid: Ganglion cysts are benign masses arising from the wrist, usually from joint. They are common in the hand. Neuroma is a growth or tumor arising from nerve tissue, and for most part are also benign, but solid in characteristics. There are many different types of neuromas, and for purposes here not able to discuss all.
