Which part?: The most common reason for this would be carpal tunnel in which case your 1st 3 or 4 fingers would go numb. Try a carpal tunnel splint at night for a while. It is possible you might need an injection in your wrist. See a pmr doctor or orthopedic surgeon.

Carpal tunnel is a : Common cause of numbness in the am. Other things include, swollen fingers and joints, sleep position affecting neck issues, sleep position of arms , and other nerve compression syndromes. Loosely fitting wrist splints that are applied at bedtime are a pretty good way to control early cts symptoms. So much so that i often call it the single best rx for early cts. ( just not too tight).
