Why are they called stomach teeth?

Point: Because as the corner tooth on the bottom they point toward the stomach, just as the third tooth on the top points to the eye and is called the eye tooth.

Old term: These are the lower canine (pointed teeth in the corner of the mouth) of a young child and often when they erupted, the child developed an upset stomach.
