Macroglossia: Is it that you really have a large tongue (macroglossia) or was it that it was hard to work inside your mouth for another reason? People that are missing their back teeth can have enlarged tongues or it may have just been difficult for you to control your tongue after it was numbed. Other cases of macroglossia include downs.

Enlarged tongue: could be caused by a large number of medical problems and addressing the underlying condition is the usual treatment for macroglossia.
