Abnormal receptors: If the doctors look and everything appears normal, you may have a receptor or nerve that comes from your tongue that is abnormal. You may also be allergic to something or have a vitamin deficiency. You might consider seeing a dentist who specializes in oral medicine.

Tongue Thrusting: Could be tongue thrusting, considering the duration. You may have other habits that the doctors may miss. Your occlusion needs to be checked, sleeping habits, diet, swallowing -- see another dentist or orthodontist.
