Is taking bupropion and alprazolam safe?

Yes, but: Bupropion is an activating antidepressant, while Alprazolam is a sedating benzodiazepine used for anxiety. It is curious why you are not on an ssri like zoloft (sertraline) or Prozac to treat both depression and anxiety with a single agent. You should discuss with your psychiatrist.

Maybe not: Some benzodiazepines interfere with bupropion's metabolism and may cause abnormally high levels. Check with your pharmacist to be sure.
