Specializes in Surgery

Back to Radiology: You wound need more imaging studies. Most likely a ct scan or an mri. Then they would refer you to a cancer specialist. It may be a surgeon or a medical oncologist, depending on what is found on the imaging studies.

Tissue sampling: If a suspicious lesion shows up on imaging, next step would be to obtain a sample of the lesion by, fine needle aspirate, or biopsy through a laproscope or open laprotomy. The sample would then be examined by a pathologist to establish or rule out the diagnosis.
