After healing: An extraction site is an open wound that is trying to heal. Smoking can only irritate the site and slow down the healing process. Since everyone heals differently and each extraction is different, the time varies from patient to patient.

Never: The longer you wait the better. There is no specific time frame. Try to stop forever, as smoking is one of the two main contributors to developing oral cancer. Drinking excessive alcohol is the other and combining the two significantly increases your risk. Care more about your health and life than some delayed wound healing.
