Both: Your describing someone with alcoholism. This addiction is physical and psychological. Alcohol counseling and rehabilitation is necessary. Could even need an inpatient rehab program. This is not easy. This person would benefit from aa and there are support groups for family members and spouses. My best to you with this endeavor.
