Need exam and more: Need rectal exam. Likely hemorrhoids or benign rectal but can never be sure. Discuss with your family physician first.

Sounds: Like you have constipation and you might have a fissure or bleeding hemorrhoid from the straining. That would cause blood around the stool. It still should be checked out. Blood is serious: There are a few benign causes of red blood in the stool (hematochezia) but there are also some serious ones. You need to see your physician for a rectal exam and perhaps colonoscopy.
