Just that: It's a dosing difference so if you are not getting the desired effect with 10 mg, your doctor may double the dose. At the same time, however, he/she will monitor for any side effects.

Dose: Celexa (citalopram) is an antidepressant in the ssri family.Doctors start on low dose 10 mg and slowly up the dose as they see fit ddepending on patient's symptoms and needs. This is a maintenance drug, not recommended to be used as needed.
