Celexa (citalopram) and Ativan : Are different in many ways. Celexa (citalopram) is an antidepressant/anti anxiety medication and is not addictive while Ativan is an anti anxiety medication and can be addictive.

Celexa/Ativan: Celexa (citalopram) is an antidepressant of the SSRI group. Ativan is an anxiolytic of the Benzodiazepine group.
