My shingles are starting to scab i think, how long until they have scabbed and drop off? also will they scar? how do i prevent scarring?

About a week or two: Any scab will take 1-2 weeks before they fall off. Keep the scabs softened with moisturizer or petroleum jelly to reduce the chance for scarring.
