Normal, should monit: A little is normal and should not get worse. You should continue to get periodic checks by your cardiologist though and take antibiotics before dental procedures, even teeth cleaning, or any other procedure where bacteria from your body will be exposed to blood supply, like polyp resection during colonoscopy. Sterile procedures do not require antibiotic prophylaxis.

Not everyone: Not everyone has residual leakage after mitral valve repair but it's certainly not uncommon to have trace or mild residual leakage. If done well, mitral repair has similar or better longterm outcome compared to valve replacement.
