How common is an endoscopy exam of the sinus and nasal passages? are sinus ct scans better? when would you use one or the other?

CT v endoscopy: Several studies show that there is no correlation between ct findings and same day symptoms. My indications for ct are failed medical management in preparation for surgery, impending complications, assessing tumor extent, and confusing symptoms with uncertain diagnosis.Ifollow symptoms and endoscopic findings not ct pictures. Endoscopy is good for structural problems, polyps, drainage, and cultures.

Endoscopy: Endoscopy of the nose and sinuses occurs daily in an ent's office. Sinus ct scans are not necessarily better, but the complement the nasal endoscopy and provide information about the inside if the sinuses, which usually can't be seen with endoscopy, unless surgery has been done in the sinuses. Ct is usually a preop test for most ents.
