Surgery: Generally speaking, spinal cord compression requires surgical decompression. While there are different etiologies leading to compression (i.e. Disc herniations, stenosis, tumors, trauma, vascular lesions), once a person develops compression with neurologic functional compromise, surgery is the primary therapy.
