Maybe: Hydrocodone is the narcotic ingredient found in several formulations of pain relievers such as norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) vicodin and lortab. These medications can be used to treat a multitude of acute pain issues but become less effective for long term use. It would depend on what is the cause of your neck pain. If it is severe enough to consider taking one of these medications, i'd suggest being examined.

Sometimes: Hydrocodone can certainly reduce the pain associated with neck injuries. However, you will quickly develop tolerance. It is important to find out what the underlying cause is and get treatment.
